GOING FISHING
We all had a lot of fun on our nature walk earlier today. We ended up taking up most of the morning at the lake doing a little fishing. No one caught anything of any size, so we let whatever we caught go back into the lake, and the kids were excited to see the little fish swim away. Someone even caught a turtle and wanted to keep it as a pet. But it was so small, we finally voted to put him back in the water. A little later in the afternoon, Grandma became concerned about Grandpa’s glucose levels because he seemed a little tired to her. But a quick check eased her mind, and we continued on our walk. She pointed out a lot of foliage and named some of the wildflowers for the kids. She even told us that some of the plants in the woods could be used for medicinal purposes, but you had to be sure you knew which ones they were. Plants could be very poisonous and can cause you grave injury if you didn’t know for sure what you were doing. She decided it was safer for the little kids if she named the flowers that grew all around in abundance.
