HEADS I WIN, TAILS YOU LOSE

My son-in-law likes betting on sports.  Thank goodness that he only bets on paper in the house and not with real money.  It's as if the best-priced tickets are the couches in my house. He keeps lists of sports teams and tries to guess who will win.  I don’t think he is too good at betting, according to his papers, but as long as he is not losing any real money, it is okay with my daughter.    Sometimes, I think he is hooked on gambling.  No matter what my daughter asks him, he says let’s flip a coin on it.  Even small things, like when she asked him to vacuum the carpet.  He told her “if it is heads, I will do it now and if it is tails, I will wait until tomorrow”.  He does the same thing when she asks him what he would like for dinner, “heads I’ll have steak, tails I’ll have spaghetti”.    I don’t know if this is just because he has a hard time making a decision or just a habit of his.  I sometimes wonder if he flipped a coin to decide if he should marry my daughter or not!   I hope that the decision to give me a grandchild will not depend on a coin toss!
